Administrative and Office Support
(you pick one or all duties)
Duties:
Filing, data entry, bulk mailing, answering phone, photocopying, printing,
support Namasté classes, inventorying and stocking of supplies, and errand
running - picking up supplies Also, volunteers get together once or twice a month to fold, staple and label newsletters and other mailings to the membership. Time Commitment: Minimum 3-6 months. Hours are completely flexible Monday thru Thursday, minimum 2-hour block between 10 am – 6 pm. Prerequisites: Enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Duties:
Primary function: answering phones, answer general questions about Namasté
and classes/events and support Namasté classes. Other duties may include
filing, bulk mailing, photocopying, and printing. Also, volunteers get together once or twice a month to fold, staple and label newsletters and other mailings to the membership. Time Commitment: Minimum 3-6 months. 3-hours from 6 pm – 9 pm, one to four nights per month. Prerequisites: Ease and enthusiasm interacting with people. Publisher
Duties:
Create the newsletter on a bi-monthly basis (6 per year) utilizing a
publishing software program. Basic duties will include: organizing article
submission, creating layout of the newsletter, including ability to scan and
make necessary adjustments to photos; submit the final copy ready for
printing and coordination with the printer. Time Commitment: Minimum one year. 6 hours every other month. Prerequisites: Organized, very detail oriented, and of course knowledge of publishing software would be a plus. Writing skills helpful but not required. Very good time management (must meet deadlines). Enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Editor Duties: Gather and compile news/articles for the Bi-monthly newsletter and providing the publisher with content layout for printing of the newsletter. Time Commitment: Minimum one year. 4 hours every other month. Prerequisites: Organized, very detail oriented, writing skills, editing skills; and excellent command of English language would be helpful but not required. Very good time management (must meet deadlines). Ease and enthusiasm interacting with people a big plus and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Logistics Duties: Responsible to gather supplies (stamps and labels), responsible for prompt mailing of the newsletter. Time Commitment: Minimum one year. 4 hours per every other month Prerequisites: Attention to details and accuracy, very good time management (must meet deadlines), and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Proof Readers Duties: You will read drafts of the Bi-Monthly newsletter providing input as to grammatical, typographical, or compositional errors, and so-on. Time Commitment: Minimum one year. 2 hours per every other month. Prerequisites: Editing skills and excellent command of English language would be helpful but not required. Duties: Assist
class members registering and signing in. Time Commitment: Minimum of ˝ hour before start of initial class. Time commitment is based on Namasté class schedule.
Prerequisites:
Ease and enthusiasm
interacting with people, able to handle money, and able to multi task.
Duties: Take
photos at Namasté special events and Sunday Gatherings and provide photos in
digital format.
Time Commitment:
Completely flexible. Time commitment is wide open in the area of your
expertise or what you are willing to step into.
Duties:
Help create, grow, and
maintain the Namasté website. Graphics designers, writers, photographers,
people familiar with HTML, and people who can coordinate with church
staff/programs to gather and update information are especially needed!
Time Commitment:
Completely flexible. Time commitment is wide open in the area of your
expertise or what you are willing to step into.
Volunteers are called upon
to do any number of occasional or unusual jobs at or for the Center or
Sunday service. These jobs could include collecting money at special
functions, setting up and/or cleaning up after events.

Choir
Arts Ministry
Duties:
Choir performs at selected Sunday services and for special events. The Music
director sets rehearsal times. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months. Current Rehearsal time is every Friday night at the Center from 7 – 9 PM (2 hours). Additional rehearsals can be scheduled prior to performances. Prerequisites: Willingness to allow Prayer to come through your voice and to be coached. Attend Namasté 101 and Foundations classes within first year. Namasté membership not required. No audition. Reading music is not a requirement. Care for our youth during church services and special events. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month for 1˝ hours (10 am – 11:30 pm). Prerequisites: Ease and enthusiasm interacting with the youth and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Live Scan is a requirement. Contact: yfm@Namasteplace.com
Duties: Facilitate
youth spiritual gatherings (Sunday morning & special events) where our youth
learn spiritual principles as a daily practice. Time Commitment: Lead the Sunday Youth Gathering once a month and attend one planning meeting a month. Sunday Gathering |
| Sunday Gathering duties are desired to be completed by 9:30 so that we can ALL come
together, center and set the TONE for the upcoming service.
Information Table
Duties:
Assist newcomers with Welcome Package,
Flower sign-ups, and filling out contact form. Answer general questions
about Namasté and assist members registering for classes, workshops and
retreats after services on Sunday.
Duties:
Unpack and setup CD duplicating machine
along with previous CD/Tapes. Duplicate master CD into 20 CD’s (minimum),
handle money and interact with members and guest, package up and mail
Namasté "CD's By Mail" pre-prepared envelopes, pack up CD duplicating
machine and previous CD/Tapes.
Prerequisites:
Minor lifting. Specialized hands-on training required for operating CD
Duplicating machine. Detail oriented, willing to embrace technology, ease
and enthusiasm interacting with people, able to handle money, and able to
multi task.
Duties:
Unpack and setup Sunday service material: Setup information table, Setup
Namasté directional signs; setup platform table with fresh water glasses,
place envelopes/flyers on congregant’s seats, raise arm rests, set Ministry
of Prayer table and place Kleenex boxes in sacred space. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month for ˝ hour before service (9 – 9:30 am) Prerequisites: Minor lifting, bending, and carrying of materials. Able to multi task, be able to work within time constraints and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Contact: Debbie Dexter, Team Lead
Duties:
Pack up Sunday service material: Information table, Namasté directional
signs, platform table and water glasses, pickup envelopes/flyers left on
congregant’s seats, pack up Ministry of Prayer table, pickup Kleenex boxes
and tidy up area. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month for ˝ hour after service and after the congregants have left the lobby area. Prerequisites: Minor lifting, bending, and carrying of materials. Able to multi task, and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Prior to service: Unload truck, assist setup of lights, sound equipment, and music equipment.
After service: Unplug equipment, rollup
cables and cords, pack up sound equipment, lighting equipment, music
equipment, and Load truck.

Sunday service.
Duties:
Assist with lights setup and adjust light
settings during Sunday service.
Duties:
Assist people who are new to
Namasté by welcoming them after Rev Kristin has greeted them and assisting
them in finding their way to the Namasté Information Table – Deborah Scanlon
or delegated Ambassador Team Lead. You will stand an earshot away from Rev
Kristin and take her lead. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month; ˝ Hour after Sunday service and until last congregant has passed through Rev Kristin. Prerequisites: Ease and enthusiasm interacting with people. Contact: Brenda Morris, Team Lead
Duties:
Work the projector, laptop and PowerPoint Presentation during Sunday
service.
Time Commitment:
Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month for 3 hours (9 am – 12 pm). ˝ hour
prior to mediation (9 am) for setup, through the entire Sunday Service, and
˝ hour after service for tear down.
Duties:
To create the slideshow presentation for Sunday service.
Time Commitment:
Minimum one year and support of one Sunday a month; approx 3 hours a month.
Duties:
Assist in smooth operations
for Guest Speaker. Time Commitment: Timeframe is completely flexible and time commitment is based on guest speaker schedule. ˝ hour prior to mediation (9 am) to greet guest and introduce to on duty team and ˝ hour after service. Prerequisites: Ease and enthusiasm interacting with people and enjoy "making things happen" behind the scenes. Completed Namasté 101. Contact: Rev Kristin, Team Lead
Duties:
Assist with camera setup and film during Sunday service. Time Commitment: Minimum 6 months and one Sunday a month for 2˝ hours (9 am - 11:30 am). Prerequisites: no unloading and no heavy lifting. Specialized hands-on training is required for basic set up and managing cameras during service. Contact: Gary Takesian, Team Lead
Greeter. Be in the lobby to find and greet
parents, fill out nametags and direct parents to the youth gathering.
One Sunday each month from 9:40 until 10:20. Setup and Teardown One Sunday each month, pickup the Youth stuff from the office at about 8:45 for delivery and setup by 9:30. Tear down and return the stuff to the office following the service. Crafts Ad-hoc assistance doing one or more of the following: Go to the craft store to pickup supplies; go to the library to find books; help to prepare Sunday crafts. Guest Facilitator A one-time commitment to share your talent with our Youth. Music? Yoga? Art? What is your passion? Receive a free CD for the talk you miss. Facilitator Assistant Assist during the Sunday Youth gathering in whatever capacity works for you – help with the craft, read a book, or … You will attend the YFM Orientation and will need to pass a background check.
